How long do you stay with us on the day?

Generally, around 9-10 hours to cover a day. During this time I capture your wedding day as it unfolds naturally and create a unique narrative through the visual storytelling that I love to share with my clients.

I typically work from early morning to the last main event; this covers the all-important getting ready in the morning right through to cutting the cake or the lovely first dance.

I never clock watch to the minute as I understand that every wedding is unique and the schedule on the day can sometimes adjust.

My main focus is to document your story perfectly; and so I’m always happy to chat through with you in advance the role you’d like me to play on your big day.

Do you offer the option to stay late?

Don’t worry if you’re having too much fun and time runs over a bit! If you’d like me to hang on into the evening, I also offer the option to stay late past the main event. I like to call this package ‘Late Late Coverage’! It’s photography with a documentary approach, covering all the dancing antics!

I can offer this service for an additional £350 for around 2 hours photography. This option is very popular for clients who have separate evening guests, as it ensures they’re captured as a key part of your special day too.

Great! Do you offer a ‘photo booth’ or something similar?

I can take your photo booth and raise you a Pop-Up Studio!

Included in the Late Late Coverage Package (see ‘Do you offer the option to stay late?’above), the evening can also be captured as a Pop Up Studio.

Not to be confused with a traditional photo booth, the Pop Up Studio is an interactive studio set up using my professional lighting, where I capture beautiful portraits of your guests (or their most brilliant, silliest faces). I then create a custom digital photo gallery via Pic-Time, where your guests can download their image for free to print from or share, or pay for prints to be created and posted to them.

This is a great gift from you to all your guests, both day and evening, creating cherished, fun keepsakes from your special day.

So, for an additional £350 for around 2 hours, you can choose to have either (a) a documentary approach style of photography or (b) the Pop-Up Studio.

Do you take ‘getting ready photos’?

Definitely… this is one of my favourite moments to document for you; the whole day lies ahead and there’s excitement in the air! If laughter turns to nervous giggling I’m always on hand to help calm any nerves (and ensure a glass of chilled bubbly is ready!).

I can capture these special moments, for both the groom and the bride, as part of all my wedding packages.

Yes - I absolutely do. Although I’m a reportage photographer and create natural, emotive images as they unfold, I fully realise that family shots are an important part of the day for many of my clients. These precious images are often shared and printed the most.

I’ll capture them in a way that feels most natural to you, whether formal or more relaxed, and we can be as creative or quick as you like. My advice is, be sure to allocate a little time on the day for this after you’ve had a tipple or two! I’ll be there to ensure this happens.

Do you take family, formal and more traditional shots?

Yes - I absolutely do. Although I’m a reportage photographer and create natural, emotive images as they unfold, I fully realise that family shots are an important part of the day for many of my clients. These precious images are often shared and printed the most.

Have you been to our venue?

I’m naturally organised and meticulously plan my shoots in advance. If I haven’t been to the venue before, I like to visit before your big day. This provides a great opportunity to meet with the venue’s team, and scope out the property so I can carefully consider lighting and beautiful backdrops for family portraits. I also seek out a beautiful space to whisk you both away to on the day; so you get a chance to have a breather, soak up the day so far before it whooshes past and have some alone time before re-joining your guests.

I’m a bit nervous about the big day - do you offer a dress rehearsal?!

Yes! Some of my clients choose to tie in my venue visit with a pre-wedding shoot. This allows a little practice run in front of the camera, and for us to scope out the best spots together.

It’s not essential, but a fantastic opportunity for you to get a sense of what you can expect from me, as well as learning a few handy tricks, such as how to hold yourself in front of the camera. Clients have said this pre-shoot made them feel much more relaxed on the day and it can be particular great for the camera-shy.

The cost for this starts from £350, but prices can vary as I also offer the option of a more styled pre-wedding shoot, which can be lots of fun too! You can be photographed in a venue of your choice, or perhaps consider one of the industry venues I’ve built excellent relationships with.

I’m happy to discuss this further if it’s something you like the sound of.

Do you cover weddings outside of the UK?

Yes I absolutely do! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like more info on how I approach this, and feel free to look at my destination weddings here.

How can I book you for my wedding day?

The first step would be for us to meet before you book, and preferably face to face if we can make the logistics work. This gives us the chance to sit down over a coffee (or a tipple) and talk through your wedding plans in detail. If it’s not possible to do this in person, a call or Skype / FaceTime session can be good too!

I see this as an essential, and thoroughly enjoyable, part of the process. I get to discover a little more about you as a potential client and what your unique needs are.. Your likes and dislikes, your absolute essentials and overall expectations for your special day. You can ask me any questions you have (none are silly) or advice, and we’ll both know by this point if we’re the perfect match.

If you’ve decided you want to book me, a heartfelt thank you. It’s so exciting knowing I’ll be a part of your special day.

What’s the next steps?

I’ll send you my terms and conditions to read through and confirm you’re happy with. If you agree to the terms, then I’ll ask you to please pay a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the chosen package to secure the date with me as your wedding photographer.

Then all the formalities are completed and everything is booked!

The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding.

A final word…

I hope my FAQ covers all the initial questions running through your mind, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need anything else and we can book something in - I love a proper catch up.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Alex x
