So your getting married!
What happens next:
The first step if possible is to meet again before you book, this allows me to sit down with you over a coffee or a tipple and talk through your wedding plans. This for me is a really important part of the process, to find a little more about each of my clients, their likes and dislikes and expectations for the day, every client and what is important to them is different, so feel free at this point to ask me any questions you may have, or advice you might want to know too.
What are your prices and what does this include:
To allow me to capture the day as it unfolds and document in the storytelling way I do, my package price starts at £1,800 and this is for the whole day. I typically work from early morning covering all the getting ready parts, (depending on locations and timing, it is often possible to photograph both you and your partner getting ready if not too far apart. Or, If locations or timings might prevent this and this part is important for you to be covered, then this is often when a second shooter can be considered, I have people I can recommend who compliment my style and start form £250 for the day). Then I work right through to the last main event, generally either the cake cutting or first dance, but roughly 10 hours. I don't clock watch though, as every wedding is different, so don’t worry if this runs over bit, but there is also the option for me to stay till the end too. I want to document the story, so I understand the schedule on the day can sometimes adjust.
Do you offer the option to stay late?
If you think you would like me to stay late into the evening past the last main event, to capture all the dancing antics, I do offer this for an additional £350 for around 2 hours photography, this is often quite popular for clients who have guests arriving in the evening that were not present throughout the day, for the same price, the additional time in the evening can also be captured as a pop up studio - not to be confused with a photo booth, this is an interactive studio set up using my studio lights, where I capture beautiful portraits of your guests - (or silly faces) and can be a great gift from you to them to remember the day by. I capture all these digitally, and create a link through a third party company called Pixi-set, which will allow your guests to download the image for free to print from or share, or even pay for prints to be created and posted to them (scroll to the end of this link for an example of the pop up studio: http://www.weddingphotography-ah.com/nouri-reemas-wedding/ and here to see what the late night coverage can turn out like: http://www.weddingphotography-ah.com/florence-and-roberto/
Have you been to my venue?
I like to consider myself as an organised person, so If I haven't been to the venue before, I like to visit before the big day. This gives me a good opportunity to meet with the venue organisers and look around the property in preparation so I can be all geeky and choose my favourite spots for when we go off to capture some beautiful portraits together. (if the location is very far away this is not always possible but I do try), Some clients also decide to use this opportunity to tie the visit in with a pre wedding shoot, this allows a little practice run in front of the camera scoping best spots out together too. Its not necessary, it's just a great opportunity to pick up a few tricks on how to hold yourself in front of the camera, and know what to expect from me, this always makes you feel more relaxed on the day. Its not essential, but it does help those who are more camera shy. The cost for this starts from £250, but the price can vary, as I also offer the opportunity for styled pre wedding shoot which can be lots of fun too, you can photograph in a venue of your choice, or maybe use one of the venues that I have built relationships with within the industry, but we can discuss this further when we meet if its something of interest.
What you get and when:
After the special day it generally takes 6-8 weeks to get the images back to you, I edit everything myself so at certain times of the year I am very busy with my other weddings and other photography projects (I also do fashion and commercial work, you can see this here if you like: http://www.a-h.photography ) so it can take a little longer to process them within this timescale, but I will let you know if this is the case. Once edited I upload a selection of my favourite images ( about 150 - 250) to a password protected gallery on my website, allowing you to share with friends and family easily. I also " We transfer or Dropbox" all the images across in Two formats, High resolution (best for printing) and Social media size (best for easy sharing), along with this I also post the hard copy to you on a bespoke USB devise which I showed you at the show, that way you can store them with pride of place on the bookshelf. In terms of quantity of images, I don’t have a set amount, depending on the wedding it can vary roughly from 250 -600, but this amount depends on the size of the wedding too. I don’t conceal any images, I just remove the bloopers and duplicates. I also don’t have any hidden extra charges for images, I do of course offer bespoke wedding books, click here to see examples: http://www.weddingphotography-ah.com/presentation-albums/ They are designed by me and manufactured using a bespoke english supplier, I'd be happy to send a price list to you if you'd like to know more as the cost of the books can be reduced depending on the quantity ordered.
What to do if I want to book:
Lastly, if you decide you want to book me, all that is required is for me to send through some terms and conditions, If you agree to these then all you need to do to secure the date with me as your wedding photographer, is to pay a non refundable deposit of 30%. Then all the formalities are completed and everything is booked. The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
I hope all the above covers all the Info you might be after, personally I do love to have a proper catch up over the phone, or even better in person over a coffee or a tipple as I mentioned above. If the latter works best for you too, do get in contact and we can book something in. I look forward to hearing from you.
