To my wonderful Bride and Grooms to be out there, If any of you are still looking for an stunning venue to host your wedding day, I thought you might be interested in this amazing venue I've just discovered whilst exhibiting with The Luxury Wedding Show on the 7th May, plus I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful new wedding suppliers.
The Wedding Event was held at Oakley Court in Windsor which was welcome sight to behold on arriving from London, nestled in the district of Windsor, I was surprised that the journey was only an 1 hour from my home in Walthamstow.
On arrival the venue immediately gave me a sense of luxury and heritage, yet it still felt welcoming and modern. The grounds and building are wonderfully kept, honouring that true country mansion feel, giving you a real sense of what it would have been like when it was previously someone's home.
After the show we had the opportunity to walk around the Hotel, the interiors were rich with warm wood, walls adorned with art from all decades and eras, and furniture that had even my Partner stopping to look and appreciate. It's rare to see craftsmanship and quality like this so open to the public and approachable, giving you the chance to soak up their intricate details in a relaxed environment.
When we ventured outside, Scattered in the gardens were incredible sculptures of animals made from driftwood in all shapes and sizes, allowing you freely walk around the grounds and really appreciate the space.
At the base of the garden, the River Thames flows past, giving an extra scenic view of river boats, Kayaks and canoes drifting by.
Just when I thought the experience couldn't get any better, the hotel had a lovely little garden bar, allowing us to buy cocktails & Prossecco, sitting in double deckchairs (which won me over instantly - very romantic) and soak up the sun and scenery in tranquility. Weather you book this place for your wedding, or just wanted a scenic change for a lazy Saturday afternoon, I highly recommend it.
Now, back to the wedding show - for me, I just love attending them, it gives me a chance to see beautiful venues like this, and speak to my future bride and grooms one to one and find out all about their plans for the special day, it gives them a chance to get to know me more too and how I'll approach their wedding. I was delighted to have a really wonderful couple book me on the day too, I can’t wait to capture their Wedding day! Thank you for choosing me Emma & Daniel!
The wedding shows are also so great for me to meet some super talented wedding suppliers which is invaluable, as its important for me to be able to recommend someone to my clients first hand.
Over the last few years at various Wedding events, I have met Paul and Sam from Cocoa Cream, so seeing them there as I arrived was a real pleasure, especially as I have a real sweet tooth and there chocolates are amazing ! I am always amazed at how beautiful the sugar sculptures they can create are, they're are out of this world and really make a statement on a special occasion or an amazing centre piece for your wedding. You can also commission delicate and unique designs for beautiful wedding favours, giant chocolate letters and much more.
When thinking about your honeymoon after the special day, I have to tell you about Brit from Not just Travel not only is she passionate about traveling her self and seen so many beautiful places I dream of going, she has over 400 suppliers that she can recommend for you when planning your special honey moon or retreat, so its completely bespoke! She can make something truly unique, no doubt ill be roping her into helping me plan a nice trip away when we get a chance! I loved over hearing some of the suggestions she had on the day for her clients, it made me feet itchy for travels.
Something that definitely stopped me in my tracks at the show was the gorgeous 1966 Convertible Ford Mustang that can be hired by Always Chauffeur, talk about showing up in style. It definitely makes a difference from the classic cars you usually see on weddings, not just that, but they also offer the option of male and female chauffeurs for the day which is a nice change. Some journeys on route to the ceremony can be long or short, but its the the last journey you take before the big “I do’s”, so be sure to consider what that journey could be like. From the few times we spoke to Kit who was there at the show, we couldn't help but notice what a really lovely presence he had, this would be invaluable on the wedding day, keeping things clam and stress free, and no doubt would help settle any last minute nerves you’d have on route to your wedding.
Lastly I’m a sucker for magic and sparkly things, like a magpie I can’t help myself, So when I came across Adrian the Magician I was besotted, not only was his magic brilliant and fun, but he looked amazing too! I couldn't help but swoon over his Swarovski bespoke tie he was wearing! Apparently he has a shirt like this too! So much fun and a perfect addition to a wedding day treat for your guests.
Thanks for stopping by and happy wedding Wednesday!
