Luton Hoo Luxury Wedding Show 1st March 2015:
I was so excited to finally be at the Luxury wedding show, I had been looking forward to it and preparing for months, waiting for the winter to pass and for the wedding season to finally get started. It’s an amazing time of the year. Yes, it’s a completely different world from fashion photography which i'm also involved in and equally adore, but Wedding photography is a special moment in time for those who decide to tie the knot and I couldn't be more excited to be part of it.
For those brides to be who haven't been to Luton Hoo Hotel, its absolutely stunning; I definitely recommend you check it out. On first impressions I had always thought it was just the main Hotel that was on offer, but when I arrived at the main gate to set up the day before for the show, I was pleasantly surprised with just how much there was to feast your eyes upon. Acres of lush green land, wildlife roaming freely, beautiful gardens and suntraps that would make for the perfect backdrop to photograph that romantic moment at a wedding. This was paradise for me as a photographer, so many beautiful photographs could be captured here to remember your day, and Lets not forget about the golf course too, truly an escape to be lost in and play for hours.
We set up on Saturday in preparation for Sunday, the stand went up smoothly and I was really pleased at how it looked, I couldn't have been happier with the results. The Luxury wedding show team hosted by organisers Bridget and Lois were a dream to work with and gave me a great spot, they also picked a great selection of other gorgeous exhibitors that complimented the venue perfectly, a few of these people were Vickie Ellis who did an amazing job on the models makeup for the Bridal catwalk show, some these dresses were supplied by Fiona from Great expectations Bridal they were so elegant and beautiful. A fabulous day for brides to be!
On the day I decided to put together a little competition, this was a perfect opportunity to get to know potential clients, and have a little fun doing it, “take a polaroid to be entered into a prize draw for a half price digital wedding package and 2nd place is a free pre wedding shoot”. This went down a treat, I got to play with my new digital Polaroid camera and hand out the cutest raffle tickets that Laura Reay, a super talented designer made for me. I loved them!
Congratulations to the winners who were drawn at the 2.30pm catwalk show live on stage by Bridget, I am pleased to announce that those winners are:
1st prize was won by Lauren (Raffle No: 322) you guys are the lucky winners of my digital wedding photography package for half its normal price! I can’t wait to hear all about your special day over a coffee or a tipple :)
2nd place winners are Antonia & Luke (Raffle No: 233) who win a lovely pre Wedding shoot for free, I look forward to seeing you guys again, you were lovely.
Thanks again to all the lovely people I met, and the Luton Hoo for a great venue, I'm already looking forward to my second event and another great weekend with the Luxury wedding show this Sunday 8th March at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
See you there!
